To protect nature, please bring organic, natural, and eco-friendly hygiene products. Avoid plastic and reduce waste. You can bring your own yoga mat for comfort; Protopia also has some yoga mats. A flashlight or headlamp is useful for nighttime walks. Pack a waterproof jacket for unexpected rain showers.
* It is very important to bring long-sleeved shirts and long pants for dancing, forest sessions, and nighttime activities. Bring natural insect repellent.
Para proteger la naturaleza, por favor, trae productos de higiene orgánicos, naturales y ecológicos. Evita el plástico y reduce los residuos. Puedes traer tu propia esterilla de yoga para mayor comodidad; Protopia también tiene algunas esterillas de yoga. Una linterna o frontal es útil para las caminatas nocturnas. Empaca una chaqueta impermeable por si llueve de repente.

Protopia is in Alajuela's mountains, 15 km NE of Nuevo Arenal, at 500 m altitude. It has a humid, cool Caribbean climate with wet and dry seasons. The retreat in February 2026 will be during the dry season.
The wet season is muggy and cloudy, with occasional sun but often overcast. The dry season is mostly sunny with some clouds and occasional rain. Temperatures range from 18°C to 30°C, hot and humid but cool. Wearing layers and quick-drying clothes is recommended.
Protopia se encuentra en las montañas de Alajuela, a 15 km al noreste de Nuevo Arenal, a 500 m de altitud. Tiene un clima caribeño húmedo y fresco con estaciones lluviosas y secas. El retiro en febrero de 2026 se realizará durante la estación seca.
La estación lluviosa es bochornosa y nublada, con sol ocasional, pero a menudo nublado. La estación seca es mayormente soleada, con algunas nubes y lluvias ocasionales. Las temperaturas oscilan entre los 18 °C y los 30 °C, cálidas y húmedas, pero frescas. Se recomienda usar ropa en capas y de secado rápido.

Protopia provides fast STARLINK internet, perfect for digital nomads and remote workers wanting a quiet, productive space. However, during the retreat, we seek to disconnect and take a break from the networks. The internet speed is at least 50 Mbps, allowing smooth video calls and easy access to online tools.
Protopia ofrece internet STARLINK de alta velocidad, ideal para nómadas digitales y teletrabajadores que buscan un espacio tranquilo y productivo. Sin embargo, durante el retiro, buscamos desconectarnos y descansar de las redes. La velocidad de internet es de al menos 50 Mbps, lo que permite videollamadas fluidas y un fácil acceso a herramientas en línea.

Protopia has abundant water. Two rivers run through the farm, providing fresh, clean water. They also use natural spring water for drinking, filtered with a Berkey filter.
The water in the cabins, showers, and bathrooms comes directly from the river, not from the spring water used for drinking, as the height of the spring does not provide sufficient pressure. The river water is carefully managed and maintained to ensure safety and comfort.
En Protopia, hay abundante agua. Dos ríos atraviesan la finca, lo que proporciona agua fresca y limpia. También usan agua de manantial natural para beber, filtrada con un filtro Berkey.
El agua de las cabañas, duchas y baños proviene directamente del río, no del agua de manantial que se usa para beber, ya que la altura del manantial no proporciona suficiente presión. Se gestiona y se mantiene cuidadosamente el agua del río para garantizar la seguridad y comodidad.
